The Millennial Mediator

The largest percentage of the workforce is MILLENNIALS – is your organization equipped to support them?

%

By 2020, Millennials will make up 50% of the US workforce.

I work with companies to bridge the gap between Millennials and Managers so you can build a thriving organization, increase employee engagement, and improve employee retention.

N

Millennials became the largest segment of the workforce in 2016

N

Gallup estimates that Millennial turnover due to lack of engagement costs the US economy $30.5 billion annually

N

Millennials are the least engaged generation in the workforce.

N

Millennials change jobs more often than other generations.

N

When Millennials believe their company has a high-trust culture, they’re 22 times more likely to want to work there for a long time and when they have a great workplace they are 59 times more likely to endorse their company to friends and family (Great Place to Work, 2018).

N

About half of Millennials have left a job because of mental-health reasons (Mind Share Partners, SAP, and Qualtrics).

N

Millennials are destigmatizing mental health by embracing therapy more than previous generations.

N

Burnout and the high cost of living are contributing to the high levels of depression in Millennials (Blue Cross Blue Shield).

%

Only 48% of Millennials think corporations behave ethically, down from 65% in 2017 (Deloitte)

The good news is we can create lasting change and improve some of these discouraging statistics by making a few small changes to how we approach Millennials as employees and leaders. The first step is understanding what Millennials are motivated by:

N

Purpose:

Millennials want to know the work they’re performing will have a lasting impact

N

Authenticity:

Millennials are drawn to leaders who are willing to be transparent and vulnerable

N

Community:

Even though we’re connected globally, we’re not connected emotionally. Millennials need community and a feeling they belong.

N

Technology:

Millennials see technology as an integral part of their lives and see technology as their way to create more freedom by being able to work remotely

N

Recognition:

Millennials are the trophy generation and want public (and private) praise and validation from their employers.

We don’t stop there. My Team Coaching Programs for Corporate are designed to help your workforce feel more united across all generations.

Who are these programs for?

  • Managers who work with remote or virtual teams
  • Companies who hire Millennials

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the two (2) main reasons why Millennials are the way they are.
  2. Gain insights into the background information behind the current generations that make up the workforce and what makes each of them unique.
  3. Learn leadership skills and strategies to improve how you work with Millennials.
  4. Discover what Millennials are really looking for and how to keep them motivated.
