How To Promote Your Health During the Third Trimester

by | Aug 16, 2021 | Blog

During the full length of your pregnancy, you’ll need to be careful of many different foods and activities. You’ll need to know how to ensure a healthy pregnancy, but you can’t forget about your own health in the process. The third trimester is often the most difficult, as your body will go through the most changes as the baby grows and develops. Therefore, you need to know how to promote your health during the third trimester.

Stay Active (If You Can)

If you’re able to do so, staying active can really help during the final stretch of your pregnancy. However, you need to be very careful, as overexerting yourself can be very dangerous for both you and the baby. Very light exercise, though, can do wonders. However, don’t try to push past any swelling or pain when exercising.

Hydration Is Key

Your body is sharing a lot of your nutrients with your baby, so you’ll need to keep up. Drink lots of water whenever you’re thirsty to make sure that you don’t dehydrate yourself. You shouldn’t go to any extremes, but drinking lots of water will keep you healthier.

Kegel Exercise

Kegel exercise or pelvic floor exercises are all about strengthening your muscles to help control urinary incontinence. Just like with staying active, only do these exercises in moderation, so you don’t injure yourself and put more strain on your body.

Avoid Long Trips

Traveling can be great fun, but long rides where you’re stuck in one position can be horrible for your body during the third trimester. Some airlines don’t allow women who are 34 or more weeks pregnant to fly. If you do need to travel, walking around every hour or so can really help your body.

Your health is just as important as the baby’s health during your pregnancy. You need to make sure you’re taking care of both the baby and you. Hopefully, this small guide on how to promote your health during the third trimester has provided you with valuable information.
